A self-taught professional artist from the famous mining town of Ashington in Northumberland.
Peter excelled at art at school and assumed he’d make a career of it when he graduated, but life doesn't always take the obvious path and in 1984, aged 16, he entered the world of gainful employment. Following a 25-year sabbatical from art, Peter, out of curiosity, picked up a pencil and found he could still draw.
Displaying his work in a number of local galleries, his artistic rebirth began. Developing a reputation within artistic circles, demand began to greatly increase for Peter’s work. He decided to hand in his notice and turn professional.
Having never looked back, he draws inspiration from the spirit of individual characters and communities from growing up in a working class North East area.
