The closely fought contest took place in Shirebrook, Derbyshire, as Spennymoor competed against the best bands from across England and Wales.
Not only did the band emerge victorious, principal euphonium, Jak Camp, was awarded the prize for the best soloist at the competition.
Adjudicator, Christopher Bond, said: “This was a stunning performance of brilliant quality from start to finish. Expertly led by the MD the band showed off its brilliant soloists and super percussion throughout.
“I will remember this performance for a long time…can I join your band?!”
In congratulating the Spennymoor Town Band, the Mayor, Cllr Ian Geldard, said: “Everyone in the band has clearly worked exceptionally hard for the contest and this incredible win really helps put Spennymoor on the national musical map.
“We know how good our musicians are, but it’s fantastic that they’re receiving this sort of recognition on the national stage.”
In a note to the Town Council, the Band thanked members and staff for their moral, financial and in-kind support.
