Suicide prevention charity, U Care Share Foundation, asked the Council about lighting up the landmark to help highlight its Inside Out campaign, which falls on World Suicide Prevention Day.
The campaign encourages people to wear an item of clothing Inside Out to spark a conversation, with the idea of getting what is on the inside out, and highlighting the importance of talking.
The Foundation has three aims: prevention, intervention and supporting those bereaved by suicide, and for this campaign to hit home, landmarks across the UK are turning green to show support.
Suicide remains one of the biggest killers in the UK, with 4,912 people taking their own lives in 2020 alone.
