Background

Born in 1994, Newcastle, England.

Sam graduated from Newcastle College with a degree in Art and Design with a specialisation in painting and has recently completed his BA Honours in Fine Art at Falmouth University.  The themes of Sam’s work are taken from his everyday surroundings of life and places, which mostly manifest through the people and architecture of Newcastle and the history of the North East and its industries.  Realism is Sam’s main driving force, but while maintaining this, he feels as though it is very important to create mood and atmosphere through the work.  I believe realism comes from a connection to the viewer’s emotion as well as strong representation of the subject.
