Spennymoor Family Fun Day in celebration of Armed Forces Week

Spennymoor Town Council is delighted to announce a Spennymoor Family Fun Day in celebration of Armed Forces Week, with the support of a confirmed Armed Forces Day Grant.
The free community event will take place on Saturday 20th June 2026, from 11:00am to 3:30pm at Jubilee Park, Carr Lane, Spennymoor (DL16 6JJ), offering a fun-filled day for all ages while recognising and celebrating the contributions of the Armed Forces and Blue Light communities.
The event forms part of nationwide Armed Forces Week activities, giving residents an opportunity to show their support for service personnel, veterans, and emergency services.
What to Expect
- The Family Fun Day will feature a wide range of entertainment and attractions, including:
- Live performances from Spennymoor Town Band, North Tyneside Steel Band, and Rock Choir
- Children’s entertainment, including inflatables, a climbing wall, land train, and face painting
- Army Field Kitchen with live cooking demonstrations
- Vintage vehicles and interactive displays
- Police dog demonstrations (Jet & Ben)
- Walkabout entertainment throughout the day
- Information stalls from Armed Forces representatives and local organisations
- Catering and refreshments available on site
The event is designed to be an inclusive and engaging day for families, with activities running throughout the event.
