Spennymoor Town Council Facilities & Recreation Committee Order of Business - Meeting to be held September 8th 2026
Spennymoor Mayor Cllr Billy McAloon and his consort, Mayoress Christine McAloon, joined family, friends and well-wishers on Saturday 22nd August to celebrate the remarkable 107th birthday of Spennymoor resident Hilda McCavanagh.
During the celebration, the Mayor and Mayoress presented Hilda with a bouquet of flowers on behalf of the local community, marking the special occasion and recognising an extraordinary milestone.
Mayor Cllr Billy McAloon said: “It was a privilege for Christine and me to join Hilda in celebrating her 107th birthday. Reaching such a wonderful milestone is truly special, and it was a pleasure to present her with flowers and share in the celebrations with those closest to her.”
Hilda’s birthday celebration was a joyful occasion, bringing together members of the community to honour her long life and the place she holds in Spennymoor.
