Spennymoor Town Council is pleased to announce a series of free Creative Community Workshops taking place throughout March, April and May in the Maker Space at the Bob Abley Gallery, Spennymoor Town Hall.
These relaxed and welcoming sessions invite participants to explore and celebrate the women — past and present — who have shaped communities across the North East.
Celebrating Stories Through Creativity
Participants will have the opportunity to:
Experiment with textile techniques such as fabric collage, simple stitching, embroidery, fabric painting, and lino printing.
Create a personalised fabric square representing a chosen inspirational woman.
Take part in building a large-scale community sculptural installation that will be displayed in the Bob Abley Gallery as a part of our new exhibition, Echoes of Her North: the quiet architects of our communities.
Workshop Dates
Tuesday 24th March – 10am-12pm
Tuesday 31st March – 10am-12pm
