Spennymoor Town Council Facilities & Recreation Committee Order of Business - Meeting to be held July 14th 2026
The Mayor thanked Hilda for her work in the community and many years of service as member of the Women’s Institute. Hilda recalled memories of many friends made as a member of the W.I.’s Friendship Force. She also attended night school to learn several languages to boost her communication skills.
Hilda was delighted to have received 106th and 105th birthday cards from His Majesty King Charles III and Queen Camilla, that were proudly displayed alongside her 100th birthday card from the late Queen Elizabeth II.
In reply to the Mayor’s comment that she was an amazing lady, Hilda commented “I am just like everyone else”.
We think you are a special lady Hilda, congratulations, and best wishes.
