The Kings Project fills Jubilee Park with music

Spennymoor was delighted to host the choir of Prestonwood Baptist Church Dallas, Texas, for a one-off concert in Jubilee Park.

The “Churches Together Service & Gospel Concert” took place on Monday 14th July, attracting over 400 people who enjoyed a beautiful vibrant performance.
The King’s Project Student Worship Choir, consisting of 250 young people, performed a variety of pop and gospel songs during the free concert in the sunshine. The group has visited the UK before and aims to visit every two years. In 2025 they performed in Edinburgh, York, Newcastle, Whitby, Spennymoor, Stockton & Durham…but this was the first time they visited Spennymoor.
A quality event enjoyed by families and the wider community, the choir members enjoyed mixing with residents and visitors after the performance…also organising their own litter pick, to clear up after the event.
Young people from the choir also visited local schools and supported organisations, doing community work with Tudhoe Community Centre and Spennymoor Youth & Community Association to name but a few.
