Spennymoor's Jubilee Park will once again come alive with music and entertainment, as the much-anticipated “Party in the Park” returns.

Organised by Spennymoor Town Council, the annual music extravaganza will this year take place on Saturday, August 9, and promises to be a highlight of the year delivering an unforgettable day of live entertainment and summer fun.

This year is even more special, with the Party providing a showcase for North East talent, with local hero Ste Johnson taking to the stage in the middle of the day.

Running from 1:00pm to 10:30pm, the stage will be packed with talent, featuring a stellar line-up of tribute acts and crowd favourites, including:

  • Fleety Hack
  • Sam Fender Experience
  • Coyote Wilde
  • Jackson Live
  • Joel Coombes as Elton John
  • Ste Johnson
  • Non-Stop 90s
  • Bon Jordi
  • Jay Francis as George Michael
  • Absolutely Abba

Ste Johnson, a successful singer/songwriter, was born and raised in Spennymoor. He has performed across the world and supported the likes of Sophie Ellis Bexter, Joss Stone, and Chesney Hawkes. He has performed on Strictly Come Dancing and at Kensington for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, now Prince and Princess of Wales.

“It’s fantastic to get the chance to play this open-air gig to so many people in my hometown,” said Ste. “It will help round off an exciting summer, with the release of my new EP “Better Days”, a headline gig at the Cluny and a string of summer festival shows.”

Ste will perform a solo acoustic set at Party in the Park, promising some original songs and singalong covers to get the crowd in the mood.

Spennymoor Town Council Mayor, Cllr Liz Maddison, said: “Party in the Park is one of the town’s magnet events that brings people into the heart of our community. It’s a day when families, friends, and neighbours come together to have fun, enjoy incredible music and local talent — and best of all, it’s free!”

Council Leader Cllr Billy McAloon added: “This is exactly the kind of positive, inclusive event we’re proud to host in Spennymoor. Jubilee Park is the perfect setting, and with such a fantastic line-up, this will be a day to remember.

“It’s also great to see local artist, Ste Johnson performing in his home town in front of thousands of fans and gaining the recognition their talent deserves.”

Party in the Park will also feature a funfair, inflatables and family-friendly activities will also be available throughout the day. Bars and a variety of catering options will be on site, and attendees can also bring picnic blankets, camp chairs, and their dancing shoes for what’s sure to be a lively and uplifting celebration of summer.

Admission is free, so mark your calendars and gather your crew for an epic day out in Spennymoor.
