Santa’s Christmas list was as long as the line at his grotto, as the town Christmas Tree Lights Switch On attracted hundreds into the town.
Over 260 children visited the Town Hall Grotto to meet Santa and kick off the countdown to Christmas.
Spennymoor Town Council and Durham County Council delivered high quality entertainment throughout the event, which featured a mixture of thrilling performances and incredible music from Spark, Calvos, Julebukk, and a Living Snow Globe, which formed part of a spectacular lantern parade involving children from Spennymoor Youth and Community Association.
A huge thank you must also go to the stage performers from Kingdom Culture Church, Rainbow Singers and Spennymoor Youth Band.
The Christmas Tree Switch On was performed by Mayor, Cllr Derek Taylor and he was joined by Santa Claus to perform the duties.
Large crowds were treated to free rides, with catering providing delicious food options.
Spennymoor Town Council hopes everyone who attended had a fantastic time and we wish you all a wonderful Christmas!
